Cell phones can do just about anything. However, what happens if you've lost someone's cellphone number? How can you get in touch with that long-lost friend from high school? Looking up someone's cellphone number is harder than it may seem. Cellular phone numbers are not easy to find since cellular companies treat their customer's numbers as unlisted. Why is it hard to find a directory for cellphone numbers? Over the past few years, privacy laws that protect cell phone numbers have begun to loosen up. There are several national cellular registry websites that provide this information. None of them are free, but it might be worth a small fee to get in touch with that long-lost friend. The quality of these websites vary across the board. Some of them deliver what they promise, while others deliver nothing more than a bunch of pop-up ads. You can try using the Internet, but you probably not find success that way. Not many people leave their cellphone number on their blogs or personal websites. However, if they have, they will appear whenever you use a search engine. Choose one (Google, Yahoo!, MSN) and enter the person's name with quotation marks around it. You can narrow the search by adding a bit of personal information about this person. If you know your friend lives in Phoenix, try adding that in your search. It would look like this: "John Smith" + Phoenix. Just hit the search button and see what comes up. You might get a lucky break!
